Even though talent and endurance were always the foundation, in recent years I have noticed how scientific training methods have further changed the sport. The integration of biomechanical analyses and data-based strategies has helped many players take their game to the next level. It is not a miracle cure, but I can only recommend that every ambitious player take advantage of these developments to get the best out of themselves. (original in German)
Andreas Ehstand Science meets Court.
AI-supported performance coaching for tennis, padel, pickleball and golf — sport science practiced by a sport scientist.
Why this concerns you: If your technique already looks fine but your results still don't move, the missing piece is usually invisible — this is where we make it visible.
What is it?
AI-supported performance coaching for tennis, padel, pickleball and golf: performance factor analysis and mental sports coaching to the GPTCA/ISMCA standard.
Behind it: Andreas Ehstand, sport scientist and AI Scientist, who links the coaching practice to the AI assistant Phöni and to his research programme AUGMANITAI.
Performance factor analysis for tennis, padel, pickleball and golf. Individual and group training, association and university support, club and high-performance sport, career planning.
What's in it for me?
Over 15 years of international coaching experience, plus AI-supported motion analysis with Phöni — for example one player's documented rise from LK2 to DTB 150 in six weeks.
One documented example: a player rose from LK2 to DTB 150 in six weeks — see the Performance Lab.
Why is it worth it?
Recognised by internationally established coaches such as Tomáš Šmíd and Hernan Flores, trained in the Toni Nadal Excellence Programme — the result is documented, measurable progress over weeks.
There is no price button, because every engagement is tailored individually to location, duration and scope: exact terms are clarified in a personal conversation.
The same physics. Four different flights.
One physics, four sports — to touch.
A visual physics model — not a measurement.
Names that speak for the work.
The quotes below are reproduced verbatim in their original German — nothing translated, some shortened for length, never altered.
As a padel coach at the highest world level, I have experienced first-hand the importance of scientifically based training. Through my work with the world's top players (who are still on the tour), I have seen how the combination of technique, biomechanics and mental preparation takes the game to a new level. Biomechanical approaches help to optimise movement sequences and prevent injuries. Such principles are essential not only for professionals but for all players who want to improve their performance. Scientific training offers a clear path to making constant progress and getting the best out of one's own potential. Articles about my career and Andy's training methods in the new book 'Faszination Padel' with and by Christian Bonk can be ordered online or in bookshops from 14 October! (original in German)
I had a racket in my hand for the first time and was able to learn it immediately. (+ forehand mechanics: 'I still benefit in 2025 from my forehand whip.') (original in German)
Andy is a former regional coach colleague (of the Lower Saxony Tennis Association) of my long-time tennis coach Chris Böhm. He conducted an interview with me, which will be published in the book 'Faszination Padel' coming out on 14 October, and has also already appeared in a shorter version as a blog post on Padelpoint. As a member of the German youth national team and a player in the 1st Bundesliga, it means a lot to me to be part of the project and I am really looking forward to it! Since we met, I have noticed how committed you are to this sport and how much passion you have put into the book. Especially for us young players it is important to become visible and to convey how much fun this sport is. Thank you very much for your support and this great opportunity! (original in German)
In his coaching activity he distinguished himself through his passionate, competent and motivating manner of passing on his expertise to his players. From my point of view, what was striking was his extraordinary didactic skill as well as his positive way of communicating. (original in German)
Documented credentials — the hard facts
Toni Nadal Excellence Programme (Rafa Nadal Academy)
Toni Nadal Excellence Programme (Rafa Nadal Academy). Nine-month intensive programme with 30 years of Toni Nadal experience: technique, footwork and motivation. Since September 2018 in D-A-CH: the Excellence diploma — Toni Nadal's highest coaching programme. Excellence: Rafa Nadal's uncle and GPTCA co-founder — opens his complete methodology for performance coaches.

Biomechanics and AI motion analysis.
At BallScience4U we work at the intersections between tennis, padel, pickleball and golf. Each discipline has its own techniques, but they share biomechanical foundations. We combine sport-science methodology with experienced coaching practice and AI-supported motion analysis.
Methodological focus
Performance factor analysis — the systematic breakdown of complex performance into nameable, measurable components: for example the racket angle at the point of contact, or the length of the breaks between points. Applied in individual and group training, in association and club work and in individual career planning.
Biomechanics as the key to success
Racket sports are not only sport, but also science. Through a deep understanding of body mechanics, athletes can optimise their technique, prevent injuries and raise their overall performance. The analysis of movement, force transfer and correct posture is decisive in maximising the efficiency of every stroke.
What we offer
- Mental Sports Coaching to GPTCA / ISMCA standard
- Performance factor analysis for tennis, padel, pickleball and golf
- Individual and group training
- Association, university, club and high-performance sport support

Body and mind — connected by data
In professional sport, peak performance does not come from ever more training, but from precise control of the interplay of load, recovery and self-observation. Over 15 years of international coaching in tennis, padel and pickleball have shown me: the difference between good and great performance lies in making visible what happens between the strokes.
Phöni — the AI assistant of BallScience4U
Phöni supports the training process: motion analysis, load management, competition preparation, training diary. Phöni is a tool, not a replacement for human coaching. All training decisions are made together with your coach.
Phöni in the Performance Lab — example dialogue
Second documented example (Performance Lab): »Play is not technique, it's energy distribution. Learn to manage your breaks – not just your points.«
Andreas Ehstand
„Whoever understands how he thinks understands how he plays.“

From LK2 to DTB 150 in six weeks.
Julia Wagner
Julia was able to improve very noticeably in the years 2013 to 2015 and in the years 2021 and 2022. She not only rose e.g. from the Bayernliga to the second Bundesliga, but her greatest rise in terms of performance development was demonstrably from LK2 to DTB 150 in just 6 weeks. As with a large part of the other noticeable player developments, the key point here, even before tactical elements, was the correct understanding of the force relationships at the point of contact. She was accompanied continuously in part from 2013 to 2015 and parts of her development were also documented in lectures at the Association of German Tennis Teachers. In the south German region, her player development attracted a great deal of attention due to the extremely rapid, measurable increase in ranking. (original in German)
Voices from the coaching
We were enthusiastic about the uncomplicated and clear style of communication. Also impressive was the sound sport-scientific knowledge that Andy was able to put into practical exercises. (original in German)
We have rarely received so much from a coach in such a short time. Andy immediately recognises where the errors in the stroke are and knows the right solution for every problem. (original in German)
Andy is a professionally qualified and competent coach. (original in German)
My son Ben had the opportunity to train with Andy in 2022, and we are really satisfied with the progress he made. In particular, the work on the contact-point fundamentals and the force relationships with the tennis ball at the point of contact helped him a lot. These techniques and the basic biomechanical understanding have noticeably improved Ben's game. The training in Andalusia and later in Hochkönig was a valuable experience, as were the further training sessions afterwards. He is now playing successfully in youth tournaments and in league matches in Baden-Württemberg. Andy worked with a lot of patience and commitment, which really motivated Ben to develop further. (original in German)
I am hugely looking forward to the publication of Faszination Padel on 14 October and am overwhelmed that so many pre-orders have already come in. As an author and journalist, my goal is to advance the sport of padel, and the book is an important step in that direction. I am particularly delighted that the training aspect in the book has been covered so thoroughly – an area that is crucial for the development of players. (original in German)
As a business consultant and padel coach with a background in psychology and business administration, I know how crucial scientific findings are for the development of athletes. The connection between mental strength and athletic performance is often the key to success. It is no different in padel – the right balance of mental preparation, physical training and tactical understanding can make the difference. I myself had the good fortune to train with Hernan Flores, who is featured in the new book Faszination Padel, and experienced first-hand how important sound knowledge is for progress in sport.
